Swimming the DEBEN

Summer Sunday morning 11 of us swam the 9.5k from the coast at Felixstowe Ferry, inland to Waldringfield village along the tidal stretch of the beautiful, historically significant River Deben. Around 2.5hrs, with a stop for jelly babies at Ramsholt. A gentle tidal flow helped an average pace of 1:30/100m but it was still a challenging swim in a broad river passing through an AONB, past ancient churches and remote woodland. A special swimming experience (and great training!) for all of us 👍💙
