Last Saturday at FLC I swam about my 25th annual 5k Swimathon, managing 1hr26:42 - my 3rd best over all those years, feeling relaxed throughout...no niggles, cramp - or even food fantasies - en route!
But there were two really special aspects of this year's event.
Firstly, my two sons (aged 16 & 11) swam in relay to complete the 200 lengths in 1hr37 - that was a real pleasure to see!
And then, equally impressive, there was a great turnout of swimmers from the squad! Frances and Nicola (solo 5k's), Sophia & Jackie (team 5k) and Sarah + daughter swam brilliantly - lots of lengths to hone and maintain their technique and pacing skills! And plenty of money raised for Cancer Research, Marie Curie and the Swimathon Foundation.
Swimathon's always a nice start to the summer season - and especially so this year:)))
