Red Mist: the Sunrise set

super simple 70min set of well-paced 200's and 100's today, turning the Red Mist concept around slightly to cover the longer distances first (e.g. 7-10 x 200) then 16-20 x 100m after increasing the RM cycle time by 1sec/50m. It's the sunrise set a) because (at 07:57) the sun rose over the sea just to our left as we swam and b) because, with the distances getting shorter and cycle time just slightly easier, there was always light ahead of the squad. Note, though, that the rest times did not increase on the 100's because on Red Mist cycles you accrue less rest on shorter swims! It all worked beautifully I have to say, with groups covering from 2800m-4000m - a great endurance and mental strength workout! Saturday squad tackle a different Red Mist set the 2nd session of each month - there are 32 swimmers who should be sleeping pretty well tonight!

Lane 3 shallow end group led brilliantly throughout by Suzanne (white goggles) on RM4 (60 sec) and RM5 (61sec).
