A hundred hundreds - no problem!

Early morning Sat 30 December Swim Smooth Suffolk, in conjunction with Felixstowe Leisure Centre, organised an opportunity for swimmers from the Squad, Swimfit, 21st Century, Felixstowe Swimming Club, Felixstowe Swimscapes as well as Ipswich and Cambridge triathlon clubs to tackle the classic pool 10k challenge - the 100 x 100m - and everyone achieved their goal.

We had 35 swimmers - 10 pairs and 15 soloists, aged from 15 to 60. The fastest solo was 2:26 (Tom B), fastest pair (Brendan B, Charlie S) 2:22, longest solo (Liam H), 4:16. Fastest female Gemma C (2:56). Such a brilliant effort from everyone. People tackled it differently - one lane of 4 gents (Adam R, Simon H, Sean B, Mark K) all stuck together throughout, on the same turnaround time, for the whole 10k, while others started with shorter turnarounds - but there was no argy bargy, with an lovely supportive atmosphere from beginning to end. 

Since the event, you can see swimmers' confidence and self-belief  - including squad members Frances & Sophia (pair), Liam, Michelle, Nicola, Charlton (soloists) - has grown so much. Wonderful to see - and very likely we'll run it again late December 2018:)))
