Squads river-to-river

It’s a simple, special swim - from one end of Felixstowe to the other, from the stark angles of Landguard fort and the huge cranes of the mighty Port of Felixstowe, 4 miles north, with the tide, to peaceful Old Felixstowe, within sight of the tranquil, historic River Deben and stately Bawdsey Manor.

In between passing nature reserve, 200-year-old Martello Tower P, the Pier, Spa Pavilion & Gardens, “the bay” and Cobbolds Point.

24 of us made this journey last Saturday afternoon, seeing all these landmarks and more from that unique open water swimmer’s perspective.

Times from 1:03 to 1:30, all back safe and satisfied for fruit, tea and ice creams. Sweet💙 #swimsmooth 🏊🏼‍♀️🏊‍♂️
