Pools are open again, sea's warming up (a bit!) so time to jump back in and look forward positively... not long till Squads restart on May 17th

It felt great to get back in the pool yesterday for the first time since December. Just a simple evening pull buoy swim of 100’s and 200’s and a 400, so 1100m in total - lovely to see lots of friendly familiar faces but the pool still felt quite quiet, which is always nice. I followed the advice of our recent Squad guest speaker, sports psychologist, Alice Pinion (https://www.headfirstsportsperformance.co.uk) and was relaxed, kind to myself and trusting in the process, rather than looking for quick results. We’ve all missed this and well done to Felixstowe Leisure Centre for getting things back in place so well. In fact, I enjoyed it so much I went back for some (1500m) more this morning before breakfast.

So what about SQUADS which we’ve been missing even more!? As with all adult ‘classes’, Squad can’t resume until at least 17.05.21. But the good news is that FLC already have us back in their timetables in our previous slots of MONDAYS 0630-0715 + TUESDAYS 2015-2100 + SATURDAYS 0725-0835, starting on Mon 17 May. All previous Squad members are ‘in’ for the restart by default - and if interested in joining a Squad please email seamus@swimscaper.com to grab one of the few places left - you won’t regret it!

I’m working with FLC to get my 1-to-1 Swim Smooth VIDEO ANALYSIS & STROKE CORRECTION sessions back in the timetable as soon as possible - if wishing to get your name down for one of these uniquely effective bespoke sessions, please email or call for a chat about your swimming 07818664751.

Finally 1-to-1 individually-tailored OPEN WATER SESSIONS at Felixstowe are due to restart in May (when the sea should be in double figures - it’s taking its time to warm up this year, still hovering around 7C in mid-April!) - please do get in touch to make new breakthroughs in your open water swimming!

Over 30 swimmers from Swim Smooth Suffolk, Felixstowe Swimscapes and Ipswich Triathlon Club recently attended an inspiring talk from the one and only Suffolk-based OW swimmer and sports psychologist, Alice Pinion. Really helping get our heads in gear for a positive return to (pool) swimming after lockdown.
